Marine Conservation
The protection and long term conservation of marine habitats is integral to the ethos of Frontier. Our marine based projects in Fiji , Madagascar and Tanzania are among our most popular and long standing. Working with local institutions and governments has meant that the research we gather is of genuine importance in the local management of these delicate marine habitats. Habitats that host a diversity of species from turtles to manta rays, dolphins to whale sharks all in the world's least explored coral reefs.
Opportunities at our Marine Conservation Projects
Volunteering at one of our marine conservation projects is an opportunity to gain qualifications such as a PADI (advanced open water diving) and an internationally recognised BTEC advanced diploma or advanced certificate in Tropical Habitat Conservation. Importantly the established marine projects provide a chance to gain field experience; mapping coral reefs and studying local species. This experience is invaluable for those wishing to pursue a career in conservation or simply develop a CV.
